When did I get lost?
When did I get lost? I never thought I was lost until I set down and thought about this question.
I recalled as a child I would go to my mother, father, aunts, and grandmother homes to fill like I was important. You see I was the first-born grandchild on my father’s side and second by two weeks on my mother's side. Therefore, I was giving a lot of attention on both sides of the family. Then came my siblings and cousins which meant the attention was divided. The status of being lost was not something I would have to describe my life.
When I was in elementary, junior high, and senior high school, I can remember being teased and bullied. The results of the teasing and bullying cause me to stay to myself and not really joined any groups in school. Do not to get me wrong there was groups and organization I wanted to join but because of my self-consciousness and my home environment, I never mention it to my parents. In junior high school, I did try out for the pep squad and I made it. I was so excited but that did not last long. The pep squad was only for one year. Then in high school, my life was just about the same, I made the flag team, and then I found out I was pregnant. Another disappointment. Choices- I choose to have sex and I became pregnant. What a change in my life.
As an adult, I made many decisions that I am proud of and some I am not.
I started this post with the question “When did I Get Lost”.
I guess I can answer that question when I was a child because I never learned to love myself.
I have two questions for you.
Do you think you are lost? And if so,
When did you get lost?
